From 5 June
New exhibition: “Armenia in Images: Sounds, Colors, Patterns”
The exhibition dedicated to Armenian culture focuses on the work of young Armenian artists, traditional musical instruments, and folk costumes.
The People’s Museum of Tallinn, in cooperation with Mellnov Gallery, the Estonian Armenian community Dvin, and the Honorary Consul of Armenia in Estonia, presents an exhibition dedicated to Armenian culture. The exhibition focuses on the work of young artists, traditional musical instruments, and folk costumes. The display offers a vibrant view of Armenia’s cultural heritage through art, music, crafts, and visual forms.
A special place in the exhibition is given to the works of young Armenian artists, characterized by stylistic and thematic diversity. An artistic language shaped by cultural traditions lends the works depth, expressiveness, and individuality.
The complexity of the cuts, fabrics, ornaments, and rich decorative details of the Armenian folk costumes on display—garments of historical and symbolic significance—reflect venerable traditions and regional distinctiveness. Traditional Armenian musical instruments, such as the kanun, kamancha, duduk, tar, shvi, and others, also carry valuable historical and emotional heritage.
We invite you to discover Armenia through art, music, and folk costumes, offering a fresh perspective on cultural richness and contemporary ways of preserving national heritage.
