About Kiek in de K\u00f6k Fortification Museum<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Kiek in de K\u00f6k Fortifications Museum\u00a0consists of four medieval towers and underground passages. It forms a museum complex\u00a0over 500 meters long.<\/p>\n

The display in the\u00a0Kiek in de K\u00f6k tower\u00a0and\u00a0underground bastion passages\u00a0gives an overview about the birth of the town, the history of its fortifications, weaponry and main military campaigns, times of plague and also about crime and punishment in the medieval town.<\/p>\n

The underground tunnels also house the\u00a0Carved Stone Museum,\u00a0where is a display of decorated portals, pillars, reliefs and other carved stone fragments from the 16th to 19th centuries.<\/p>\n

The exhibition in Maiden Tower\u00a0reminisces the 80\u00b4s when there was popular cafe. Another display tells about times when the tower was artist\u00b4s workshop and home.
\nFrom the Maiden\u2019s Tower, you can access the Stable Tower (Tallitorn) whitch is famous as\u00a0the most haunted place in Tallinn, and Gate Tower (V\u00e4ravatorn) atop the town wall.<\/p>\n
