This year, we will explore the vibrant world of colours in the city \u2013 from nature and history to art and architecture \u2013 which is why this summer\u2019s theme is \u201cColours of the City.\u201d<\/strong><\/h5>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #344c94;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linnamuuseum.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/D3A3282-X3-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-96273 size-medium alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.linnamuuseum.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/D3A3282-X3-1-400x267.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"267\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.linnamuuseum.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/D3A3282-X3-1-400x267.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.linnamuuseum.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/D3A3282-X3-1-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.linnamuuseum.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/D3A3282-X3-1.jpg 1500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Children from 1st grade up to 12 years old are warmly welcome to join. Activities are held in Estonian, but children who are still learning the language are encouraged to participate as well. Our teachers speak several languages and make sure every child feels comfortable, included, supported, and fully engaged throughout the day.<\/p>\n<p>During the three days, we will play, explore, listen to fascinating stories about Tallinn\u2019s history, do arts and crafts together, and enjoy many other exciting activities. Through playful activities, we\u2019ll explore how colours change when seen through a rainbow and uncover the hidden colours of nature in Miiamilla\u2019s mini garden. Along the way, children will learn how we can all help keep our city bright and beautiful. Inspired by the colours collected throughout the day, each child will create their very own \u201cCapital City Crown\u201d to take home.<\/p>\n<p><strong>June 16: Colour Tickle<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At the Museum of Photography camp day, we will dive into the diverse world of colours through the exhibition \u201cColour Tickle.\u201d We will learn how rainbows are formed and what colours are hidden inside white light. We will discover how the human eye perceives colours and how research into colour perception and light contributed to the development of colour photography. In a hands-on workshop, we will create colourful slides and experiment with bringing them to life on the wall using light.<\/p>\n<p><strong>June 17: In the Footsteps of a Medieval Merchant<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The final day of the June camp takes us on a colourful journey back to the Middle Ages. We will meet at the Museum of Urban Life and step into the fascinating world of a merchant\u2019s house. The adventure continues along the paths of medieval merchants as we uncover the stories hidden within the museum\u2019s thick walls. Was the Middle Ages really as grey as people sometimes imagine, or was it surprisingly colourful? During the day, we will also work in the museum\u2019s educational garden, where we will explore the colours around us, experience elements of nature, and challenge ourselves with various activities. It will be a day full of discovery, games, and new knowledge!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #344c94; font-size: 34px;\">Second Session: August<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>August 11: Dragon\u2019s Nest<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Peoples\u2019 Museum of Tallinn day begins with a city adventure: together we head into the Old Town to search for dragons hidden on building facades. In this exciting scavenger hunt, we will test our observation skills and joy of discovery. Back at the museum, the day continues with movement and team games, where every task is connected to the world of colours and dragons. Afterwards, we will test our knowledge in a fun dragon quiz. After lunch, everyone can unleash their creativity by making their own unique dragon mask using colourful cardboard and imaginative details. Together, we will immerse ourselves in the museum\u2019s colours, dragons, and joyful atmosphere!<\/p>\n<p><strong>August 12: The Colours of Time in an Old Tower<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Kiek in de K\u00f6k Fortifications Museum camp day takes place in and around the Maiden Tower. We will discover how vibrant and diverse life in this place has been throughout history. After a historical scavenger hunt, we will listen to ghost stories from the Maiden Tower and play games with the Black Monk. After lunch begins the art workshop \u201cThe Colours of Time.\u201d We will work with different colours and techniques, using both natural and modern shades. The day ends with a scavenger hunt in the Danish King\u2019s Garden, where riddles and clues lead children to a fun treasure.<\/p>\n<p><strong>August 13: The Colours of Kalamaja and Colourful Characters<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On the final day of the camp, we will explore at the Kalamaja Museum what colours the old wooden houses of the suburb are and what patterns decorate their fascinating doors. We will play tag and other old-fashioned games. Weather permitting, we will hike through the local streets and see what colourful characters live there. With a bit of luck, we may even meet Kalamaja\u2019s star cat August, admire the beautiful shades of his fur, and afterwards paint or draw pictures inspired by the characters we
